Soon I’m headed to New Zealand for the first time. Three weeks isn’t enough time to even think about doing everything on one island, much less both. But that’s the time I have and must make do. I’m a serious planner and researcher, and have tried to boil down what I feel is the best New Zealand has to offer. Although, looking at my itinerary now, I realize that I just might not make it back to the Northern Hemisphere alive.

Kia ora! It seems like only yesterday that my husband and I were deciding where our next trip-of-a-lifetime would be. Thailand was mentioned. I thought Spain and Morocco or Greece and Turkey would be the ticket. We tabled the discussion when my husband was called to Dubai. He returned and was singing the praises of New Zealand. That’s where he wanted to go. Since I chose our last trip-of-a-lifetime (Rome), I figured that it was his turn to pick.
